The nanoleaf holiday lights are a nice product with some convenient features like the fact that the lights are split into two strands making it easy to wrap around a tree, or alternatively if wrapping around stairs or columns, through the nanoleaf app you get the full features of this product with scene control and a range of options.

Where this product falls short though is the level of control available through a smarthome system like homeassistant, unlike other nanoleaf products, this one does not talk directly to HA and upon reviewing the product page in more detail they do specify "Basic control via matter" however this is essentially limited to basic on / off and basic colour control, no scene selection.

If nanoleaf were to produce a V2 of this product I would expect more control be made available via smarthome protocols and have a unified smarthome connection type across all products rather than various different connection types.

This product can only be controlled through a smarthome system via matter.

Aside from these criticisms overall the product itself is solid and works great, I'll just have to get used to using the nanoleaf app directly for control..

The smart home lights look absolutely stunning, simple to setup and easy to use via the Nanoleaf app or Alexa, they are vibrant both day and night

Bought to complement some larger light strings. Work well, and with the app settings, they will last much longer than Christmas. White lights for the year, coloured lights for xmas. Work well, and durable.
